ENHANCER Project Pilot Local Common Use Facility Grant Scheme for Gaziantep and Sanliurfa launched in October 2020. GETHAM was one of the successful project with the grant amount of €239,027.00. GETHAM was established in May 2018 within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program under the European Union Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA). In March 2021, GETHAM became one of the grant awardees of the ‘Pilot Local Common Use Grant Scheme for Gaziantep and Sanliurfa’ under ENHANCER Project.
GETHAM is one of the few institutions operating in the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Gaziantep region, and with the help of the grant, it will deliver its services to a wider target audience with a business development-oriented structure and a new methodology. With the aim to enable Syrians under Temporary Protection and local entrepreneurs to interact and access the needed services more easily, GETHAM is focusing on improving inclusive business creation and scaling up of services, and strengthening networking and export capacities of companies in the region.
We had started to create common working spaces and opened them to the service of SMEs and entrepreneurs in Gaziantep. As one of the physical spaces we had established with the help of the grant, we organised a Project Information event, and we intend to continue these events as ‘Open House’ gatherings where we host Turkish and Syrian companies and inform them about the services we provide.
Below photos are from the event we held on 10 December 2021, Syrian and Turkish companies were invited to GETHAM and briefed about Footwear, Food, Beauty and sports, education, electronics and technology sectors.
With the grant support received from ENHANCER project, a 3D printer enabling production was procured and with this printer, SMEs and entrepreneurs in the region are receiving services, combined with other GETHAM infrastructure.
With this funding from the EU received through ENHANCER Project, “Open house” events are being organized for university students Gaziantep in order to strengthen the value-added entrepreneurial ecosystem of the region. We organize events so that students can take advantage of the collaborative work areas we have established within the scope of the Project and benefit from the knowledge and skills of GETHAM.
The “Brain Storming” room, which we set up with the grant Support, is used intensively every day. In this room, we share new ideas with SMEs and Entrepreneurs with simulation products such as smart screens. The room is also used for delivering presentations by the GETHAM personnel to companies based on their needs and innovative ideas.
