I was very satisfied with the training. As the child of a furniture maker, I learned many things from my instructors during the training that I have not able to learn from my father. My instructors’ eloquence and knowledge played a significant role in helping me understand the topics. The field visit we participated in on the last day was an entirely different experience. It allowed me to put into perspective and comprehend what I had learned during the first three days. As someone who is more inclined to learn through tactile and concrete examples, I can say it was more informative for me than it was a theoretical training. I would recommend this training to anyone interested in and looking to take a step forward in the furniture industry.

We had an active learning experience that was both theoretically strong and taught us by living through real-life examples at the core of the work and in the field.

The knowledge I gained during the Technical Entrepreneurship Training in the Furniture Sector organized by ICMPD and the impressions I gathered during the field visit broadened my vision. I would like to sincerely thank my instructors for sharing their valuable insights with us.

Although my family business is furniture manufacturing, I initially approached the training program I attended with prejudice. I believed that online education, compromises the quality of learning. However, throughout the training process, the valuable contributions of the instructors and their insights into the industry were able to partially change my perspective. I believed that in a face-to-face setting, I could absorb this valuable information more effectively and have a more fruitful experience by building direct relationships with other participants.
The field visit organized as part of the training was the turning point for me. Although I participated with preconceived notions, the entrepreneur’s candid sharing of their journey and genuine approach completely shattered my biases. This visit not only changed my perspective on the furniture industry, where my father dedicated years of hard work, but also revealed the sector’s potential and showed me what could be achieved with a visionary approach.
At the end of the visit, through one-on-one conversations with the company owner, I secured a promise to start working at this company after completing my military service, marking a new beginning. I left the field visit not just with knowledge and inspiration but also with a job opportunity. This development became a significant step toward shaping my career in this sector and fostering my personal growth. The respect I have for my father’s profession and the fresh perspective this experience gave me have inspired me to set bigger goals in the furniture industry. Now, I am determined not only to advance myself in this field but also to carry our family legacy forward with dedication.
